dr. edwin groot: i was born in the netherlands and raised in canada. at miami university, in oxford, ohio i completed my phd in botany with the thesis titled growth analysis of depth of toothing mutants in arabidopsis thaliana and depth of lobing mutants in lycopersicon esculentum. i was employed since 2008 as scientist and lecturer at the university of freiburg. my research is currently on plant stem cells, making use of live imaging, bioinformatics and plant biotechnology. i have authored and co-authored 15 articles in various international journals. i have taught courses in biology, soil science, statistics, bioinformatics and plant science.
